The “Foot Mercato” network reported that the former Saudi national team coach, Herve Renard, is in talks with one of the Roshen League clubs to return again and coach in the country of the Two Holy Mosques.
Renard is not currently affiliated with any national team or club after leaving the French women’s national team at the end of the Paris 2024 Olympics, and he has received many offers, most notably from the Nigerian national team.
According to recent reports, Al-Ahli Jeddah Club has opened negotiations with Renard to coach the team in the event that the current coach, Matthias Jaissle, is dismissed.
Al-Ahli is currently suffering from a clear decline in results, and perhaps the most prominent downfall was the farewell to the King’s Cup from the round of 32 against Al-Jandal.
Al-Ahli’s management has begun searching for a new coach to succeed Jaissle if the decline in results continues, and Renard is its ideal and first choice so far.
The French coach’s position on coaching Al-Ahly is not known, especially since he previously hinted that he is not interested in working with clubs and only wants to work with national teams.
Renard has a distinguished reputation in Saudi Arabia after his great success with the national team, and it was said that he is a candidate to return to coach the Green if Roberto Machini does not succeed in providing the hoped-for addition in the coming period.
It is noteworthy that Saudi newspapers previously confirmed that former Egypt national team coach Rui Vitoria is also one of the candidates to coach Al-Ahli if Jaissle is dismissed.
