Deschamps staunchly defends Mbappe after being excluded from the French national team

France coach Didier Deschamps called on fans and the media to understand the pressure of matches and the interests of players, commenting on Kylian Mbappe not being called up for the current international break.

Mbappe has been under fire recently from French fans for his poor form with the national team, with many calling for him to be stripped of the captaincy.

Mbappe was absent from Real Madrid for a week due to injury, then returned again in the last two matches, but asked Deschamps not to participate with France in this break to give him more rest.

In turn, Deschamps commented on this by saying, “We must put the player’s interests first instead of hindering him with difficulties.”

He also added, “The most important thing is the player’s interests. He will not do anything against his club or the national team. We must support him and put his interests first.”

He continued, “We must understand that Mbappe works for Real Madrid primarily and not the national team, and as usual, the interests of clubs and national teams sometimes conflict.”

He added, “Clubs are afraid to send their players to the national teams. I understand that, and I confirm that I never risk any player I have.”
