Kylian Mbappe did not participate with the French national team in the current international break because he wanted more time to rest and recover, but he did something that sparked a lot of controversy and opened the doors to criticism and attacks against him.
The French national team played its match on Thursday in the European Nations League, and at the same time, pictures were taken of Mbappe while he was in a nightclub in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.
The Real Madrid star tried to disguise himself as much as possible to the point that he wore a black mask, but the newspapers succeeded in tracking him down and discovering his presence in the nightclub.
According to the French newspapers, Mbappe asked Real Madrid for permission to travel to Sweden and have a special outing before returning to training again in the next few days.
However, the 25-year-old’s behavior angered the French fans who did not accept the excuse of his desire to recover his health to justify his absence from Didier Deschamps’ squad in this international break.
There have been calls recently to strip Mbappe of the France captaincy, and with the behaviour seen by many as “provocative”, criticism of the Real Madrid star will continue until further notice.
