Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has called for Lautaro Martinez to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or, considering him more deserving than any other player in the world.
The Inter star appeared on the list of 30 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or this year, but indications show that the competition is only between Vinicius Junior and Rodri.
Scaloni said in this regard, “I appreciate Lautaro a lot and I hope he wins the Ballon d’Or.”
He also added, “Even if he doesn’t win the Ballon d’Or this time, I think he will have the opportunity again in the future.”
Regarding the reasons for choosing the Inter star to win the award, he said, “He had a great year by all standards. He scored a goal with us in the Copa America final and was the tournament’s top scorer.”
He concluded, “Lautaro Martinez deserves the Ballon d’Or, for me he deserves it more than any other player.”
The Ballon d’Or awards ceremony will be held on Monday, October 28 in the French capital, Paris.
