The Teams That Qualified For The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The international break in October decided the identity of a large number of teams that officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to be held in Morocco.

The “Atlas Lions” have already secured participation from the qualifiers as the hosts, but they are going through the qualifiers to complete the number.

The first and second place teams from each group qualify directly from the qualifiers to the “CAN”.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo then qualified, along with the title holder of the previous edition, Senegal.

Angola secured qualification, and Sudan now needs one point to accompany the coastal team to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian national team was able to secure its qualification by defeating Mauritania with a goal by Ibrahim Adel, to ensure its qualification as well with a full score.

2025 Africa Cup of Nations date and tournament format

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to be played on a new date than usual due to the pressure of matches.

The tournament was supposed to be held in June, but due to FIFA’s decision to hold the 2025 Club World Cup in America in the same month, it was decided to postpone the competition.

According to the CAF announcement, the date of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be in December 2025, and the competition will continue in January 2026.

The competition will start on December 21, 2025 in Morocco, and the final match will be held in Rabat on January 18, 2026.

For the fourth time in a row, the African Nations Cup will be held with the participation of 24 teams, divided into 6 groups, with the first and second qualifying for the round of 16, along with the best 4 teams that finished third.
