Cristiano Ronaldo was caught on camera hurling obscene language at the referee of the Portugal-Scotland match, which was played on Tuesday in the European Nations League.
Portugal failed to secure a place in the quarter-finals after they were held to a goalless draw at Hampden Park, amid decisions that angered Ronaldo greatly.
According to the footage, Ronaldo was furious at the referee’s decisions at the end of the match, and started shouting at him in every play.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo applauded the referee, mocking him for his decisions and saying that he was the reason for Portugal losing two valuable points.
Later, Ronaldo appeared insulting the referee of the match, Laurence Visser, saying to him: You are disgusting.
It is not yet clear whether the referee noticed this and wrote it down in his report, and consequently Ronaldo will be subject to suspension, or whether the matter will pass unnoticed.
Portugal will play two crucial matches in the upcoming November break, against Poland and Croatia, knowing that they are currently leading the group with 10 points.
