French journalist Romain Molina claims that Real Madrid management deeply regret signing Kylian Mbappe last summer.
Merengui has been chasing Mbappe since he rose to prominence in 2017 until they finally managed to sign him for free at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain last season.
According to Molina, signing Mbappe was just a “whim” from Madrid president Florentino Perez.
In his interview with the Daily Mail, Molina said, “I assure you that Real Madrid regret signing Mbappe.”
He added, “What Mbappe has done so far is contrary to expectations. Perez always loves great players, but there is still discontent within Real Madrid with Mbappe.”
According to Molina, Real Madrid officials’ discontent with Mbappe comes for two reasons, the first is that he has not yet performed as expected and has not succeeded in becoming the team’s first star as hoped.
The second and more serious reason is that things inside the locker room are not going well.
Molina concluded his speech by saying, “Real Madrid made a mistake by including Mbappe immediately without a preparation period, and there are many question marks about his physical condition while he is only 25 years old.”
It is noteworthy that Mbappe’s crises have recently increased after he was accused of a rape incident in Sweden, but the player and his lawyer deny the matter and confirm that it is a rumor that came out of Paris Saint-Germain due to his demand to obtain his delayed dues amounting to 55 million euros.
The French international participated this season with Real Madrid in 11 matches in all tournaments, during which he succeeded in scoring 7 goals and making one goal.
