Eintracht Frankfurt were defeated by their host Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 at the BayArena, in the seventh round of the German League.
Despite the defeat, Egyptian star Omar Marmoush was one of the stars of the match, and continued his extraordinary start to the season.
Marmoush succeeded in winning a somewhat controversial penalty kick after the video technology confirmed its validity, in the 15th minute.
The 25-year-old successfully converted the kick into the net of goalkeeper Lukas Haradyski, giving Frankfurt the advantage.
This is Marmoush’s ninth goal this season in the Bundesliga, and he has scored at least one goal in each of the last six matches in a row.
Thus, the Egyptian became the third player in Frankfurt’s history to achieve this historic number after Anthony Yeboah (7 in 1993) and Bernd Holzenbein (6 in 1977).
Unfortunately for Marmoush, his achievement was not crowned with three points for Frankfurt, as Leverkusen came back with two goals to win and reach 14 points in third place.
Frankfurt’s balance froze at 13 points in fifth place, and this is only their second defeat this season in the Bundesliga.
