Barcelona’s management has reached an agreement with Fermin Lopez to renew his contract for two additional years.
Lopez’s current contract with the Catalan club was due to expire in the summer of 2027, but his remarkable performance last season made him deserve an extension with a higher salary to ensure his continuation at Camp Nou.
According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lopez will sign a new contract with Barça within a few hours that will keep him in Catalonia until the summer of 2029.
Lopez will receive a significant increase in his salary, and his contract will include a penalty clause ranging from 500 million euros to one billion euros to ensure that he does not move to any other club.
The Blaugrana’s efforts to keep its players will not stop at Lopez and before him Marc Bernal, as Romano confirms that the management will enter into negotiations with Pedri and Gavi to extend their contracts as well.
In the same context, the Barça management will try to renew Ronald Araujo’s contract, and reach an agreement with Frenkie de Jong on a new contract to divide his huge salary over the years.
It is noteworthy that Fermin Lopez participated with Barcelona in only 4 matches this season, but he suffered an injury with the Spanish youth team that caused him to be away from the stadiums for a month.
