Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been clear in his desire for coach Hansi Flick to restore the Catalan club’s honor from Bayern Munich when they meet again in the Champions League.
Flick was Bayern Munich’s coach in the 2020 Champions League quarter-finals when he led the Bavarian club to crush Barça 8-2, in a match that swept everything away at Camp Nou.
Now Flick is in charge of Barcelona and will face his former club, and Laporta wants him to succeed in breaking the Bayern complex, considering that the Catalans have not won against the Germans in the last 7 matches.
According to the newspaper “AS”, Laporta told Flick “You owe us one”, indicating that he is the one who led Bayern to an 8-2 victory and now he must restore the honor of his current club.
Flick had said in the press conference before the match that he does not think much about the past, and that he only seeks to achieve the three points in the match scheduled to be held at the Allianz Arena.
It is noteworthy that Flick won all matches with Barcelona except against Monaco in the Champions League and against Osasuna in La Liga.
