Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti considered that the 2024 Ballon d’Or has already been decided in favor of Vinicius Junior, and that the Brazilian’s hat-trick in Dortmund was a preparation for the 2025 edition.
The Ballon d’Or awards ceremony will be held next Monday in the French capital, Paris, and after Vinicius’ hat-trick, the Brazilian is closer than ever to winning the award.
Ancelotti commented on Vinicius’ brilliance by saying, “From my point of view, Vinicius will win the Ballon d’Or.”
He also added, “What he did today will not help him win the 2024 Ballon d’Or, but it is the beginning of his competition for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.”
He concluded about the Brazilian, “He had energy and character in the second half.”
As for Real Madrid in general, Ancelotti said, “The second half we played taught us a lot and could be a decisive moment and a turning point in our season.”
It is noteworthy that Vinicius raised his tally of goal contributions in the Champions League to 38 goals since the 2021-2022 season.
