Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has identified his “biggest dream” in the world of football, which could be a double-edged sword in relation to his move to Real Madrid.
The name of the royal club has recently been linked with the English star, considering that his contract expires at the end of this season, at a time when the Merengue are looking for a replacement for Dani Carvajal.
In a lengthy interview with Sky Sports, Arnold said: “I want to win the Ballon d’Or, I want to be the first right-back to ever do that, some may call me delusional but I believe I can achieve it.”
He also added: “I want to go down in history as a football legend who changed the game, that is the impact I want to leave behind.”
“I want to be the greatest right-back in the history of football, there are many stars in this position, but I want to reach the highest possible level. It doesn’t matter how many titles you win, the most important thing is what you have given to the game and that you have shown all your potential.”
In his quest to achieve the Ballon d’Or, Real Madrid may help him, but in reality, the royal club may also be an obstacle to this dream, considering that it must support Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé annually for the same purpose.
Arnold’s dreams increase the uncertainty around his future, as he confirms that titles are not important, he may prefer to continue at Liverpool as well, and this will become clear in the coming months.
