Manchester United announced in an official statement the dismissal of coach Erik Ten Hag from his position due to the decline in performance this season.
The Red Devils have only achieved 3 wins in the Premier League over 9 matches, with 2 draws and 4 losses, the last of which was against West Ham on Sunday.
The situation in Europe is not much better, as United drew in the first 3 rounds of the Europa League and the criticism does not stop towards Ten Hag, who was content with trying to find illogical excuses for what is happening.
United said in an urgent statement on Monday, “Ten Hag has left his position as Manchester United manager, we thank him for everything he has achieved with us and we wish him the best in the future.”
Manchester United legend and Ten Hag’s assistant, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, will take over the team’s training on an interim basis until a permanent coach is contracted.
Van Nistelrooy joined Ten Hag’s coaching staff last summer after the management renewed the Dutch coach’s contract for two years.
Ten Hag took over United’s training in July 2022, and led the team in 128 matches, winning 72 of them, losing 36 times and drawing 20 times, and achieving the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup titles.
