Omar Marmoush became the talk of the media in Germany after the way he celebrated his goal with Eintracht Frankfurt against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the round of 32 of the German Cup.
The Egyptian international succeeded in leading the “Eagles” to cross the Gladbach obstacle thanks to this goal, despite Frankfurt playing most of the match with ten players, but they eventually won 2-1.
After the goal, Marmoush headed to the Frankfurt bench, where he wore a mask that raised many questions about what his celebration meant.
Marmoush responded to that in media statements and said, “My colleague Kawa Santos was wearing a mask in the locker room because of Halloween.”
He also added, “Santos told me that you will score a goal today and if you do, celebrate with this mask, which is what actually happened.”
He concluded, “In fact, I do not watch horror movies, so I do not know where this mask came from.”
It is noteworthy that Marmoush came on as a substitute in the Gladbach match in the 63rd minute, and with his goal, his scoring contributions rose to 18 goals, with 11 goals and 7 assists in 13 matches in all tournaments.
