Sky Sports reported that Real Madrid’s management has already begun negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen star and one of the most important jewels of German football, Florian Wirtz, to sign him next summer.
Wirtz’s contract with Leverkusen still extends until the summer of 2027, but given the excellent levels he has been showing in the last two years, he is not expected to stay long at the BayArena.
According to the report, Real Madrid has already contacted Wirtz’s camp in recent weeks in order to reach an agreement on personal terms.
So far, Real Madrid has not contacted Leverkusen’s management, and the Spanish club wants to first agree with the player on all the details and then begin negotiations that are expected to be very complicated with the German club.
Leverkusen’s management still hopes that Wirtz will continue for another year, especially since his father previously hinted that his son might stay with the pharmaceutical factory team until the 2026 World Cup and then embark on a new journey with a big club.
In general, Real Madrid is not the only club aspiring to sign the 21-year-old, as Sky confirms that Manchester City is also in negotiations with the player’s camp to convince him to move to Ettihad.
It is worth noting that Leverkusen president Fernando Caro previously said that he does not expect Wirtz to leave the German club for an amount less than 150 million euros.
