Mundo Deportivo reported that Ronald Araujo now wants to continue with Barcelona and renew his contract.
The Uruguayan international is receiving interest from many clubs in Europe, and his current contract with Barcelona ends in the summer of 2026.
According to the latest report, Araujo has begun to view Barcelona’s sporting project positively in light of what the team is offering with coach Hansi Flick.
Araujo’s main condition for continuing with Barcelona was to find the team capable of competing for all titles and getting out of the bottleneck stage that the club has been experiencing for the last 5 years.
After what Flick and the team have shown recently, Araujo has become open to renewing with Barça and continuing at Camp Nou, in a very positive development that was not expected.
It is said that Araujo informed Barcelona officials of his agreement to enter into contract renewal negotiations, and that a meeting will take place between the two parties within the next two weeks to discuss the matter.
Meanwhile, sporting director Deco has made it clear that Araujo is part of the club’s future plans, and that the club is willing to offer him a bigger salary to ensure he stays at Camp Nou until 2030.
It should be noted that Araujo has not yet played a single match for Barcelona this season due to the serious injury he sustained in the Copa America with Uruguay.
