Atalanta ignited the Italian League after inflicting a heavy defeat on Napoli 3-0 at home at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the eleventh round of the Italian League.
Before the match, the southern club was alone and far away at the top of the Calcio, taking advantage of the stumbling of most competitors, but coach Jean-Pierre Gasperini’s squad brought the “football paradise” back to life again.
Ademola Lookman scored a brace for Atalanta in the first half in the 10th and 31st minutes, then Retigui ended Conte’s squad’s chances of returning with a third goal in the last minute.
This defeat is the second defeat Napoli has suffered this season with Conte after losing to Verona in the first round as well 3-0.
Atalanta’s big victory ended Napoli’s unbeaten streak that extended over 10 matches this season in all competitions.
With the win, Atalanta raised its points to 22 points in second place, while Napoli’s points froze at 25 points in the lead.
If Inter succeeds in winning tonight against Venezia, it will reach 24 points and the difference between it and Napoli will become one point before their anticipated match next week at the San Siro stadium.
