Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that the Saudi Al-Hilal Club wants to sign Mohamed Salah for free after his contract with Liverpool ends at the end of this season.
Over the past two years, Salah has been linked with joining the Saudi League, but specifically to Al-Ittihad Club, which was close to achieving this in the summer of 2023 had it not been for the Liverpool management’s last-minute rejection of the big offer.
According to Ben Jacobs, a transfer news specialist, Al-Hilal seeks to sign Salah on the first day of the summer transfer market (June 1, 2025) so that he can participate in the Club World Cup in its new form with the “Blue Wave”.
Salah and his agent have a close relationship with Michael Emiliano, the sporting director of the Saudi League, which enhances the chances of his transfer to Al-Hilal, in addition to the fabulous salary that Al-Hilal will allocate to win the Egyptian star.
Initially, Salah’s salary with Al Hilal could exceed 100 million euros annually, knowing that he currently receives about 20 million euros annually.
Salah had recently sparked controversy after his tweet in which he said that he “will not forget the feeling of scoring at Anfield no matter what happens” and many considered it as confirmation that he will leave Liverpool at the end of his contract this season.
The major crisis in the negotiations between Salah and Liverpool lies in the fact that the 32-year-old player is insisting on getting his salary as it is, with signing a contract for at least 3 years and not one year.
