Al Hilal decides to dispense with Neymar

Neymar

Saudi media reported that Al Hilal management is moving to dispense with Neymar in the upcoming winter transfer period.

The Brazilian international suffered a new injury that will keep him off the field for about a month, during his participation as a substitute in the Esteghlal match in the AFC Champions League last Monday.

Al Hilal does not want Neymar to continue

According to what was stated by the famous media figure Walid Al-Faraj, Al Hilal officials informed the concerned authorities that Neymar is no longer in the team’s calculations for the rest of the season.

The 33-year-old’s contract with Al Hilal still extends until the end of the current season, but Al Hilal intends to get rid of the player in the winter transfer period.

Neymar was not registered in Al Hilal’s roster in the Saudi League, and it was supposed to return to the roster when he was fully fit in January.

But after the recent injury, Al Hilal management now believes that Neymar will not add anything new to the team and there are other players who are more deserving of the foreign seat on the roster than him.

On this basis, the decree was issued to dispense with Neymar next January and not wait until the end of the season.

Neymar’s salary with Al Hilal

One of the important reasons for Al Hilal’s decision to dispense with Neymar’s services may be his large salary compared to the amount of addition he has made to the team so far.

The former Barcelona star receives 150 million euros annually with Al Hilal, and he has the second highest salary in the Roshen League after Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar’s next destination

The news of the Al Hilal management’s decision to dispense with Neymar comes weeks after other news circulated about Inter Miami’s intention to buy the Brazilian international and bring back the historic MSN with him as a teammate of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

In the same context, the vice president of Brazilian Santos announced that the player had agreed to return to his parent club again, but starting next season in a free transfer deal.

The Brazilian player’s destination remains unknown given that he will leave in January and not in the summer, which means that those clubs need to pay money to Al Hilal to buy the remaining period of his contract.

Neymar’s numbers with Al Hilal

It remains to be noted that Neymar joined Al Hilal in a record deal worth 90 million euros from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023.

Last season, Neymar played only 5 matches with the “Blue Wave” before suffering a cruciate ligament tear that kept him off the field for a whole year.

Upon his return, the player participated in only two matches against Al Ain and Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League, and was injured in the latter.

In total, during 7 matches, Neymar scored one goal and made 3 others.
