Radio Monte Carlo revealed that Kylian Mbappe wanted to join the French national team camp during the upcoming international break, contrary to what is being said that he requested his exemption.
The Real Madrid star had missed the last camp in October based on his desire to get more rest, which sparked a wave of attacks against him.
After that, news emerged that Mbappe clearly informed coach Didier Deschamps that he did not want to join the French national team except in important matches only in order to maintain his physical condition in light of his status as the Golden Ball as his goal next year.
According to the latest report, the decision to exclude Mbappe from joining the French list came from coach Deschamps himself, while the player wanted to return again to participate with his country.
Deschamps saw that Mbappe was already suffering from great pressure in the past weeks, which increased after his level in the Clasico, and for this reason he did not want to put more pressure on his shoulders by participating with the French national team.
Deschamps informed Mbappe of this decision before the list was officially announced, and despite the coach’s attempt to make light of the player, the Real Madrid star is not happy with this step but respects his coach’s decision.
The report pointed out that Deschamps wants Mbappe to calm down, focus and regain his level, as he relies heavily on him during the decisive March and May stops in the European Nations League.
It remains to be noted that Mbappe is subject to criticism from French fans and many believe that he does not deserve the captaincy of the national team, especially after his poor level over the past year and in Euro 2024.
