Real Madrid captain Luka Modric has called on fans to be patient with Kylian Mbappe and not to doubt him, while also expressing his full support for coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Modric’s comments come amid a major decline in form for the French striker at the Santiago Bernabeu, having failed to score in his last three games and generally failing to perform as expected so far.
“Don’t doubt Mbappe, I’m sure he’ll help us a lot in the future,” Modric told the media after the 4-0 win over Osasuna.
“He’ll show everyone that he was and still is one of the best players in the world.”
As for Ancelotti, whose future is said to be in doubt due to Real’s poor results, Modric said, “You can’t disagree that Ancelotti has really given a lot to this club over the years.”
He added, “He’s given us a lot as players and I’m sure that in the future he’ll give the team even more and we’ll continue to win different titles.”
It is noteworthy that Vinicius Junior embraced Ancelotti after he scored his first goal against Osasuna, in a clear message of support from the various Merengue players for the Italian coach to continue until the end of the current season.
