Real Madrid star Ferland Mendy does not want to play for France again under Didier Deschamps, according to a report from L’Equipe.
Mendy has once again been left out of his country’s squad for two matches during the current international break in the UEFA Nations League.
According to the report, Mendy has “lost passion” and has been very frustrated with the French national team since Euro 2024, after being on the bench throughout the tournament.
It seems that the relationship between the Real Madrid star and Deschamps has been severed after the player felt frustrated and contacted the coach and told him that he had lost the desire to play for France again.
In general, the left-back’s relationship with Deschamps has not been strong, as since his first appearance in the national team in 2018 he has only played 10 international matches, which explains why the coach is not very convinced of his abilities.
This news comes to increase the pressure on Deschamps, who is already facing criticism for the decline in performance and results over the past year, which culminated in his exclusion of Kylian Mbappe for this international break.
