Player agent Ahmed Arafa claimed that Al-Ahly and Zamalek refused to sign one of the most prominent talents in Barcelona’s academy at the present time.
According to Arafa, he offered David Oduro to 5 Egyptian clubs, including Al-Ahly and Zamalek, to sign him last summer, but they all refused.
Egyptian clubs, including the two giants, were afraid of signing an unknown young player and giving him a salary in dollars that would ultimately not live up to expectations.
Oduro eventually joined Barcelona last summer from Ghanaian club Accra Lyon for only 175 thousand euros, and he plays mainly in the left-back position.
Oduro is considered one of Barcelona’s most prominent talents, and the reports about him in the past months are very promising, and it is expected that he will be promoted to the first team in the near future.
With Barcelona now practically only having Alejandro Balde on the left flank, the 18-year-old could get a chance to play for Hansi Flick’s squad soon, especially since Barça’s current policy is to rely on La Masia youth players after the amazing success shown by Lamine Yamal, Marc Bernal and Marc Casado last year.
