Former Watford player Troy Deeney has once again attacked Mohamed Salah, this time saying that Sadio Mane was better and more effective than him.
In previous statements, Deeney had said that Salah is not a world-class player and that he does not want his children to emulate him as a footballer but rather look to better players than him.
Despite the torrent of attacks and criticism that Deeney has been subjected to, he is adamant about his opinion and in new statements he said, “I still stand by my opinion, he is not a world-class player.”
He also added, “I faced Salah more than once when I was at Watford and he was brilliant and amazing and I suffered many defeats at that time, but it was about his team as a whole and not about stopping Salah and then we will win.”
He continued, “Liverpool had Sadio Mane at that time, and in my opinion he was more effective and influential than Salah at the time.”
“Liverpool currently have one world-class player, Virgil van Dijk, and for me a player of this quality is someone who can play as a starter at any club in the world,” he concluded.
It is worth noting that Mane left Liverpool in the summer of 2022 and headed to Bayern Munich, but his experience with the Bavarians was very bad and after only one year he moved to Al-Nassr, where he is still active.
