Al-Ahli took advantage of Al-Hilal’s defeat against Al-Khaleej 3-2 to mock the “Blue Wave” after failing to equal “Al-Raqi’s” record in the unbeaten streak in the Saudi League.
Al-Hilal’s unbeaten streak, which extended over a year and six months in the Saudi League, stopped at 46 matches, while the record remains registered in Al-Ahly’s name with 51 matches between 2014 and 2016.
Al-Ahli’s official account on the X platform published a tweet mocking Al-Hilal, which read, “51 matches are impossible for everyone, because Al-Ahli is its master.”
Al-Hilal’s last defeat dates back to May 2023 against Al-Adalah, and since then it has won 42 league matches and tied in 4, before this streak was stopped by Al-Khaleej.
Although Al Hilal failed to break Al Ahli’s record in the Saudi League, it surpassed it with another record, as “Al Zaeem” has the longest unbeaten streak in the history of Saudi local tournaments.
Al Hilal did not lose over 57 local matches in all tournaments (league, cup and super), while Al Ahli between 2014 and 2016 had a streak that extended over only 55 matches.
