Guardiola defends Haaland: Without him, our situation would be worse!

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, defended his team’s star Erling Haaland against the criticism he is facing due to his declining goal rate.

Manchester City lost their last 5 matches in all competitions, and Haaland scored only one goal during them, which made him a target of criticism from fans and the media.

The English club is preparing for an important match against Feyenoord in the Champions League, and Guardiola was asked during the press conference about Haaland and his decline in level and whether he was one of the reasons for his team’s crises this season.

Guardiola responded firmly in this regard and said, “I would say that the reason we did not score many goals this season is not Erling Haaland.”

He also added, “If we did not have Haaland, we would be in a much worse situation than we are now.”

He continued, “Erling will score two or three goals in one match soon, you will see that, he has always done that.”

Regarding City’s current situation, Guardiola said, “I have a feeling that this season we will achieve a lot of good things. I do not give up, and I am confident that things will improve.”
