Al-Ahly opened their journey in the African Champions League group stage with an exciting victory over their guest Stade d’Abidjan 4-2 at Cairo International Stadium.
The Red Devils started the match strongly when Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba scored the first goal in the 14th minute, then Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored the second goal in the 21st minute.
Al-Ahly’s third goal came through Hussein El-Shahat in the 26th minute, before Kassoum Koné reduced the deficit in the 30th minute.
The Ivorian club began to return relatively to the match, but Kahraba ended the guests’ chances with a wonderful scissors goal that could not be stopped or answered two minutes after the start of the second half.

Despite that, Stade d’Abidjan tried to compete with Al-Ahly again and scored the second goal in the 55th minute, but it was not enough to return, so the Egyptian club achieved the first three points in the group.
With this victory, Al-Ahly temporarily takes the lead in the group standings until the result of the Orlando Pirates and Chabab Belouizdad match becomes clear later this evening.
