Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti caused a state of discontent among the fans of the royal club after his statements in which he justified his team’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool in the Champions League.
Thanks to this defeat, Real Madrid dropped to 24th place, and its chances of being among the 8 teams that will qualify directly to the round of 16 became very difficult.
After the match at Anfield, Ancelotti said about this matter, “The defeat does not change anything because even if we won, it would have been difficult to be among the first 8 teams.”
In fact, if Real Madrid had won against Liverpool, they would have reached 9 points, one point behind Lille, who are eighth!
Ancelotti continued his provocative talk, “The goal now is to be among the first 24 teams and compete as we always have.”
Regarding the match, the Italian said, “I liked the way the team played today, we competed well but in the end we did not win, these things happen in football.”
“We will qualify for the next round and compete like last year, I am confident of that,” he concluded.
