Al-Ahly failed to achieve victory for the second time in a row in the Egyptian League after drawing 0-0 with Al-Ahly Bank in the fourth round.
The Red Devils had tied with Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in the last round at Al-Salam Stadium with a goal for each, before defeating Stade Abidjan 4-2 in the African Champions League.
Al-Ahly failed to come out with the three points against Al-Ahly Bank, which presented a more than wonderful level and almost advanced more than once if it weren’t for the brilliance of goalkeeper Mustafa Shobeir.
The match witnessed a refereeing controversy against Al-Ahly in two shots, the first with a penalty kick that was not awarded in favor of Yasser Ibrahim, and the other with a goal that was canceled by Rami Rabia in the last minutes.

With this draw, Al-Ahly reaches the eighth point, and it can lose the lead in the event that Pyramids, Al-Masry, or Zamalek win their matches in the fourth round.
This was Al Ahly’s last local match before heading to South Africa to face Orlando Pirates in the African Champions League, then travelling to Qatar to face the winner of the Derby of the Americas in the Challenge Cup, or what is classified as the semi-final of the Intercontinental Cup.
