Ancelotti announces Alaba’s return date for Real Madrid matches

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti announced the date of David Alaba’s return to participate in the club’s training, and his readiness to play matches after that.

The Austrian international has been absent from Real since December 2024 after suffering a cruciate ligament tear, and his return date has been delayed more than once after the injury worsened.

Real is preparing to play its last matches in 2024, when it hosts Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Ancelotti announced good news to the Merengue fans about Alaba.

The Italian coach said that Alaba will return to Real Madrid’s group training after the upcoming vacation period, specifically on December 30.

The Austrian international will need at least two weeks to regain his physical condition, and accordingly, Ancelotti predicted that the 32-year-old will play for the first time in mid-January.

This means that Alaba will not head to Saudi Arabia with Ancelotti’s squad to play the Spanish Super Cup.

Meanwhile, it can be expected that the match that will witness Alaba touch the Santiago Bernabeu stadium after a long absence will be against Las Palmas on January 19 in La Liga.
