Al-Ahly loses its star player for two months due to injury

The curse of injuries continues to haunt Al-Ahly this season, and this time it comes to left-back Yahya Attiyat Allah.

The Moroccan international had left the Al-Ahly and Smouha match on Tuesday due to an injury to his facial muscles.

According to Al-Ahly, Attiyat Allah underwent facial surgery on Thursday to fix a double fracture in the facial bones, and the Red Club did not specify the duration of his absence from the stadiums.

However, according to Egyptian media, the former Sochi player needs at least a month and a half to recover.

Attiyat Allah’s absence from Al-Ahly may extend to two months, and it depends on the speed of healing of the facial fracture in a way that ensures that there is no relapse that forces him to undergo new surgery.

Thus, the Moroccan player will not be able to catch up with the summit match on February 22, and he will initially miss 12 matches between the Egyptian League and the African Champions League.

Initially, Al-Ahly will rely on Karim El-Dabis to replace Attiyat Allah, with the possibility of re-registering Ali Maaloul until the end of the season to secure the left-back position.

Al-Ahly’s injury list currently includes Moroccan central defender Ashraf Dari, right-back Mohamed Hani and Omar Kamal Abdel-Wahed, in addition to Reda Selim, whose season has ended, and Taher Mohamed Taher, who needs 3 weeks to return to the pitch.
