Manchester City officials have succeeded in concluding the first winter deals for the English club as part of their efforts to save the bad season for Pep Guardiola’s squad.
According to the English media, City has reached an agreement with Lens to sign their defender Abdulkadir Khusanov.
City will pay 40 million euros to Lens, in addition to a set of performance-related additions, to obtain the services of the 20-year-old defender immediately.
It is assumed that it is a matter of hours and Khusanov will undergo a medical examination at the Etihad Stadium, then sign the contracts that will keep him with the blue club until the summer of 2030.
Khusanov will be the first Uzbek player in history to play in the Premier League.
Khusanov is characterized by speed and physical strength, and he was contracted based on the desire of Guardiola, who aspires for the young player to be a solution to the major defensive crisis that City is suffering from this season.
Khosanov will not be City’s only winter deal, as talks between the English club and Eintracht Frankfurt are in very advanced stages to conclude the Omar Marmoush deal in the coming days.
