Benzema reveals the truth about his retirement at the end of the current season

Karim Benzema denied the news circulating about his thinking about retiring from football at the end of the current season and working as an ambassador for Real Madrid in the Middle East.

It was said that the French star is suffering from high temperatures in Saudi Arabia with a decline in his physical level, which made him think about ending his journey with Al-Ittihad and football next summer.

Benzema responded to this news in statements to Marca newspaper by saying, “No, I have never thought about retiring.”

He also added about the date of the end of his career, “Maybe in 3 or 4 years I will retire from football.”

He continued, “Now I feel good, physically and mentally I am fine.”

The 36-year-old talked about Real Madrid, saying, “I definitely miss the atmosphere there, I spent half my life with Real and I always feel like I am at home.”

“Returning to Real in the future? Of course, the idea is on my mind, but now I am in Jeddah and I live a very good life. We will see what happens in the future. I am sure that I will soon be in Madrid.”

It is worth noting that after a difficult first season with Al-Ittihad, Benzema regained his usual level this season and led “Al-Ameed” to the top of the Saudi League and scored two goals that contributed to crossing Al-Hilal and reaching the semi-finals of the King’s Cup.
