Omar Marmoush continued his brilliance this season, and opened 2025 in an ideal way after scoring a goal for Eintracht Frankfurt in St. Pauli.
The Egyptian international shot the ball brilliantly from inside the penalty area and put it in St. Pauli’s net, then refused to celebrate the goal.
Marmoush previously played in St. Pauli on loan for six months in 2021, which is why he preferred not to celebrate out of respect for the love he saw from the northern German club.

Marmoush raised his number of goals in the Bundesliga this season to 14 goals in 16 matches, to tie with Bayern Munich star Harry Kane at the top of the German competition’s scorers.
In total, Marmoush played 24 matches with Frankfurt in all competitions, during which he scored 19 goals and made 12 others, making him the second most player in the five major leagues in terms of goal contributions.
The St. Pauli match may be one of Marmoush’s last matches with Frankfurt, as Manchester City negotiates with the German club to finalize the Egyptian’s transfer to the Etihad Stadium in the coming days.
It is worth noting that Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, admitted that City has made an official offer to Marmoush and that negotiations are ongoing between the two parties at the moment.
