Surprise.. The Egyptian national team will participate in the CHAN!

Helmy Toulan, a member of the technical committee of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the Egyptian national team will participate in the 2025 African Nations Championship for local players.

The Pharaohs have never participated in the “CHAN” before, but this time the officials decided that it is a good opportunity for the Egyptian player to have more continental contacts.

According to Toulan, the Egyptian national team will participate through the youth team under 20 years old, which is led by coach Osama Nabih, succeeding the dismissed Brazilian Rogerio Micale.

There is also a proposal that the team include one player who does not participate from each team in the Egyptian league to support Osama Nabih’s battalion in the continental arena.

It is noteworthy that 3 other Arab teams will participate in the CHAN, namely the Moroccan national team, the Sudanese national team, and the Mauritanian national team, while Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya have apologized for not participating.

The 2025 edition will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from February 1 to 28.

The Egyptian league will not be suspended due to participation in the CHAN, considering that the youth team is the one that will represent the Nile country, and most of its players do not participate regularly with their teams in the local competition.
