Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, announced that Kyle Walker has asked to leave the English club in the current winter transfer market.
Walker has suffered a decline in form this season and has been subjected to a severe wave of criticism that seems to be the main reason for his sudden decision.
Guardiola said after the 8-0 victory over Salford City in the FA Cup, “Walker asked to explore other options outside England to leave and finish his career with us.”
He added, “We could not have achieved the success we have achieved in the past years without Walker, he gave us a lot and was great, but now I feel that he wants to try something new outside City.”
According to the famous journalist Fabrizio Romano, Milan is the first club to contact the English defender and seek to sign him during the remaining days of the transfer market.
The Italian club believes that Manchester City can terminate Walker’s contract by mutual consent, and accordingly, the 34-year-old will move to the Rossoneri for free.
It remains to be noted that Walker also has offers from the Saudi League, but according to “Sky”, the player prefers to continue in Europe at the moment.
