Barcelona was crowned champion of the Spanish Super Cup 2025 after defeating Real Madrid 5-2 in the final match at the Jewel Stadium.
Real Madrid took the lead with a goal in the fifth minute through Kylian Mbappe, but Barcelona came back with four goals in the first half through Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Alejandro Balde.
In the second half, two minutes later, Raphinha managed to score his second goal and the fifth for Barça.
The match turned upside down after Szczesny received a red card for obstructing Kylian Mbappe, and from a free kick, Rodrigo scored Real’s second goal.
Carlo Ancelotti’s squad failed to exploit Barcelona’s numerical disadvantage over the last 35 minutes, losing their first title in 2025.
Barcelona maintained their status as the club with the most Super Cup titles, reaching their 15th title in history, compared to Real Madrid’s 13 titles.
This huge loss raises many doubts about Ancelotti’s future, with speculation that he will be sacked due to Real’s very poor performance.
