Ancelotti admits: We failed, Barcelona deserved to win

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that his team performed very poorly and deserved to lose 5-2 to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Ancelotti said in the press conference after the match, “It was a bad night, we feel sad like all our fans, it is a disappointment that we should not hide, but this is football.”

He also added, “We defended badly, which hurt us in the match. They were able to score goals easily. We did not defend well in high pressure or in low defense.”

He continued, “Before the match I said that we had to defend well to win this match. We defended badly and Barcelona deserved to win this match.”

Ancelotti considered that Kylian Mbappe was the best player in Real Madrid throughout the match, and refused to blame any other player for this defeat, stressing that the team as a whole was defeated.

Ancelotti concluded his speech by saying, “There is nothing good in today’s match. Only Mbappe’s performance, who played a very good match. We have to forget the rest and look forward.”
