Perez consoles Modric over El Clasico loss with Real Madrid pride!

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez consoled the club’s captain, Luka Modric, over the heavy defeat suffered by the Merengue 5-2 against Barcelona.

Modric was present with the Real players on the podium to receive the silver medals, where Florentino Perez was present with the president of the Spanish Federation and Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Sadness was clearly evident on the face of Modric, the most decorated player in Real Madrid’s history, so Perez intervened and addressed him.

The cameras captured Perez hugging Modric and speaking to him with the usual Real Madrid pride, saying, “We have to lose finals sometimes, don’t we?”.

In total, Modric has won 28 titles with Real Madrid over 12 years, and this season is likely to be his last unless he convinces the management to renew until the 2026 World Cup.

The 40-year-old also spoke after the match and said: “It’s a tough defeat and we’re hurt, but it’s better to lose now than later.”

Modric can win four more titles with Real, as Los Blancos are still competing for La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, and will also play in the Club World Cup at the end of the current season.
