The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” brought good news to Barcelona fans about the date of the team’s return to play again at Camp Nou.
The initial date for the return to the Blaugrana’s historic stronghold was next February, but reports confirmed that the stadium was not ready and that the return would be postponed until next season.
But the good news is that Barcelona will likely play a number of matches at the end of the current season at Camp Nou.
According to the Catalan newspaper, Barcelona officials have contacted the Olympic Stadium of Luis Companys to request an extension of the contract between them only until the end of April.
Now, Joan Laporta’s administration has high hopes that the team will play its matches at Camp Nou in the last month of the season.
This means that the next Clasico in the Spanish League will be at Camp Nou, scheduled for May 25.
It is worth noting that despite the expected return, the stands of Camp Nou have not been completed and the stadium is not expected to be completely ready in its new form before the end of this year.
