Neymar believes that the relationship between him and Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain was very good until Lionel Messi arrived in 2021 and jealousy crept into the heart of the French star.
Neymar gave a long media interview in which he talked about many things, the most prominent of which was his relationship with Messi and Mbappe.
Starting with what happened in the Paris Saint-Germain locker room, Neymar said, “Mbappe was not angry with me, but when Messi came, he became a bit jealous.”
He also added, “We had a good relationship and we also had some disagreements. He was young at first and I used to call him the golden boy.”
He continued, “I used to talk to him a lot and play for him and I told him that he would be one of the best players, I always helped him and talked to him.”
As for the moment the relationship changed, “When Messi arrived, Mbappe became a bit jealous, he did not want to share me with anyone, and from here the disagreements and change in behavior between us began.”
Regarding his move from Barcelona to Paris, Neymar justified it by saying, “I didn’t do it to become the best player in the world.”
“Messi told me at the time, why are you leaving? Do you want to be the best player in the world? I can make you that.”
He continued, “I told him I don’t want to be the best, it’s a personal matter, and obviously financially, my salary in Paris was much better than in Barcelona, and there were some Brazilian players there and they were all my friends.”
