Allegri to coach Al-Ahli starting next season

The Saudi Al-Ahli management decided to dismiss coach Matthias Jaissle from his position due to poor results.

The “Castle of Cups” suffered an unexpected defeat against Al-Khulud, which sparked a fierce attack against Jaissle with many demands for his dismissal that began since the poor start of the current season.

Ultimately, the anger towards the German coach was translated into a decision to dismiss him immediately and not wait until the end of the season, with the appointment of Italian coach Gabriele Cioffi as his temporary successor until next June.

At the same time, Saudi media revealed that Al-Ahli has already reached an agreement with the great coach Massimiliano Allegri to lead “Al-Raqi” starting next season.

There are still some final touches to be put in place in order to officially complete the contract between the club and the Italian coach, who preferred to start his mission next season instead of taking over responsibility immediately.

Since Allegri left Juventus at the end of last season, he has not returned to the field of coaching despite a number of offers, most notably from West Ham and Roma.

Allegri was seen as one of the best coaches in the world, especially in his first term with Juventus, but he was widely criticized in his second term, which ended with his dismissal due to poor performance and results.

Allegri will be the second major Italian coach in the Roshen League, after his compatriot Stefano Pioli, who is currently coaching Al-Nasr.
