Sport reported that Manchester City star Jeremy Doku offered himself to Barcelona to join the Catalan club this winter.
The Belgian player’s desire to leave City comes as a result of his marginalization by coach Pep Guardiola, who prefers to rely on Savinho instead of him most of the time.
What made Doku’s situation at the Etihad Stadium more difficult was the arrival of Omar Marmoush to City, which makes his chances of participation greatly diminished.
Accordingly, Doku changed his agent in search of a way out of Guardiola’s bench hell, and his first step was to offer himself to Barcelona.
In principle, Doku’s move to Barça does not seem easy, as there is no room to register the player on Barcelona’s roster at the moment, and the Catalans first need to sell one or more players to meet the Financial Fair Play laws.
However, Barcelona’s management did not reject the idea of including Doku as part of its search for a left winger, and is studying the matter in the hope of finding a solution.
Barça’s hopes of getting rid of Ansu Fati before the end of the current winter transfer window are still alive, along with either signing Doku or Marcus Rashford, and in both cases, the transfer will be on loan.
It should be noted that Doku has played 1163 minutes with Manchester City this season in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and making 7 assists.
