Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira has played down Jurgen Klopp after criticism of his team’s performance against Red Bull and Bragantino.
Klopp is currently in Brazil as head of global football at Red Bull Group to follow Red Bull and Bragantino.
The Brazilian media are only talking about Klopp being in their country, and he was also expected to watch the last game from the stands.
The Red Bull and Bragantino game with Palmeiras ended in a goalless draw, and Abel Ferreira was then asked about his team’s performance.
The Portuguese coach responded by saying: “Today there was a man called Klopp here, who won fewer titles in eight years with Liverpool than we did here with my coaching staff at Palmeiras. So don’t come and talk to me about hunger for titles.”
Ferreira took over Palmeiras in 2020, and since then has won 10 local and continental titles, before finishing second in the Brazilian league last season and facing criticism.
