Officially.. Paris Saint-Germain sells Barcelona target for 50 million euros

Paris Saint-Germain announced the permanent sale of its star Xavi Simons to Leipzig.

The Dutch international had been on loan to the German club since last season, and the loan was renewed during the last summer transfer period.

Despite the great interest from many clubs, most notably Bayern Munich, Simons decided to continue with Leipzig.

According to German media, Leipzig paid Paris Saint-Germain 50 million euros as a fixed value, in addition to some variables that may make the total value of the deal close to 70 million euros.

Over the course of his career since joining Leipzig in the summer of 2023, the 23-year-old has played 60 matches with the German club in all tournaments, during which he scored 15 goals and made 19 others.

Simons is one of Barcelona’s sons, and the Catalan club was interested in bringing him back in the last two years, but the financial crisis prevented the contract from being completed.
