Zamalek has finally moved to conclude a number of contracts during the current winter transfer period after the heavy criticism that Hussein Labib’s administration has been subjected to over the past month.
The traditional rival, Al-Ahly, had included one of Zamalek’s legends, Ashraf Bencharki, after the White Knight refused to sign the player last summer, and then decided to move to the Red Giant this winter.
After the public uproar, Zamalek’s administration formed a three-man committee that includes Mido, Hazem Emam, and Amr El-Ganainy to lead the remaining days of the current winter transfer period.
The committee immediately succeeded in deciding the first two positions, which are signing defender Ahmed Hossam from El-Gouna, and midfielder Mahmoud Jihad from Farco.
Work is now in full swing to sign a foreign professional in the left wing position, in addition to ending Konrad Michalak’s loan, and with it signing an additional foreign professional as well.
There is also an intention within Zamalek to sign a foreign central defender to compensate for the expected long absence of Hamza Mathlouthi, and names such as Zinedine Belaid and others have been put forward.
It remains to be noted that the African registration period has extended until the end of February, which will make Zamalek hesitate in the rest of the deals, although it is expected that other strong contracts will be made quickly to absorb the anger of the fans.
