Barcelona youth team captain Unai Hernandez has officially completed his move to Saudi club Al-Ittihad.
The club’s management entered into negotiations over the past week to sign the promising midfielder, and Barcelona welcomed the offer.
In the end, the deal was settled for 4.5 million euros as a fixed value, and another 500 thousand as easily achievable variables.
This deal is very profitable for Barcelona when it is known that the 20-year-old’s contract was due to expire at the end of the current season.
There were high hopes that Hernandez would reach the first team, and he actually trained with Hansi Flick’s squad during the preparatory period, but he then returned to the reserve team due to the abundance of stars in his position.
This season, Unai Hernandez participated in 20 matches in the Spanish third division, during which he scored 9 goals.
This deal has contributed in one way or another to reducing Barcelona’s crisis with the Financial Fair Play law, and contributes to opening up a small space to conclude a winter contract before the end of the transfer market.
