Liverpool star Mohamed Salah expressed his happiness with his double against Bournemouth, considering that winning the Premier League is his most important goal this season with Liverpool.
The Egyptian star raised his goal record in the Premier League to 178 goals, surpassing Frank Lampard as the sixth highest scorer in the history of the competition, which he leads this season with 21 goals.
After the match, the Egyptian international spoke about his feelings about scoring a double against Bournemouth, saying, “Scoring goals is the most important thing for me, this is what makes me the most happy and warms my heart.”
He also added, “As I have said repeatedly, the most important goal for us this season is to win the Premier League title.”
He continued, “We need to remain humble, and deal with each match separately, and not think beyond that.”
At the end of his statements, the 31-year-old praised Alisson Becker, saying: “We have been together for many years, and I know how hard he works in training, and I am happy for him.”
Liverpool’s next challenge will be facing Tottenham on Thursday in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, knowing that the first leg in London was won 1-0 by Spurs.
