Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has claimed that Mohamed Salah was forced to do something he doesn’t like to help his team to a 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Egyptian international scored a brace that saw the Reds return from the Vitality Stadium with three valuable points to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Speaking to the media after the match, Alisson revealed that Salah had done a great job defensively alongside his brace, something that people should appreciate given that the player doesn’t like to play defensively.
“I’m proud of what Salah did in the match, whether by scoring two goals or by doing defensive work that helped us keep a clean sheet,” the Brazilian said.
“The defensive work he did helped us come out victorious, even though he doesn’t like defending at all.”
Salah had also praised Alisson during an interview with Sky Sports after the match, considering that the Brazilian fully deserves the high status he enjoys at Anfield given his huge positive impact on Arne Slot’s squad.
