Officially.. Alphonso Davies renews his contract with Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich officially announced on Tuesday evening the renewal of Alphonso Davies’ contract for 5 new years until the summer of 2030.

The Canadian star’s old contract was due to expire next summer, and he had received many offers to leave, most notably from Real Madrid.

In the end, Davies reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to renew about a month ago, and today the matter was made official.

The new contract for Davies will not include any penalty clauses in light of the Bavarian club’s desire to keep him and not submit to any external pressures.

According to German media, Davies’ salary will be the second highest salary in Bayern Munich after Harry Kane, and will reach 18 million euros annually.

Thus, Real Madrid’s dream of signing the 23-year-old to save the left flank officially ends, and the Merengue will have to find another option in the next summer Mercato.

It is noteworthy that Davies joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from Vancouver, Canada, for 14 million euros, and since then he has played 220 matches for the German club, during which he scored 12 goals and made 34 others.
